The Intel LUN Copier feature enables local copies of any LUN (virtual drive) when it is not being actively used by a compute module. This capability, which does not require any special software to be run on a compute module, simplifies tasks such as (a) creating a local copy of a data LUN and (b) creating a new OS LUN (which can be assigned to a new compute module as the boot LUN), by copying an existing LUN which already has an OS installed in it.
